Connor- 11 months

Connor is 11 months today. He is so big now! We are guessing he may be about 21 lbs. He is still a very good sleeper and is always happy when he gets up. He is still eating pureed foods, I just make them a little thicker now. We have been putting whole milk in his bottles for almost two months now and he has done really well with it. We are going to start him on more solid foods, pasta, yogurt, cheerios, mashed fruits and veggies. So far, he has liked everything we have given him and hopefully he will like the new foods we give him.
A couple of weeks ago he started taking a few steps here and there. Now he is really starting to get the hang of walking. He still holds on to the side of his play pin, but he is doing so well! Here is a video I took of him yesterday.

My First Mother's Day

My Mother's Day actually started on Saturday. Cary decided to take me out to eat Saturday afternoon, because we knew it would be so crazy trying to get in anywhere on Sunday. We went to Bahama Breeze for dinner and then Dairy Queen for dessert. Afterward, we enjoyed a relaxing evening at home.
This morning, Cary got up early and made breakfast and coffee for me! There were two cards and some candy sitting on the table for me. One card was from Connor and one was from Cary. After church, we came home and just relaxed and spent time together while Connor napped. For dinner Cary fired up the grill. We had steaks, with a homemade marinade, brats, veggie skewers, grilled corn and grilled pineapple! It was all so delicious! Cary loves to grill and he always does a wonderful job cooking the food.
My first Mother's Day was amazing and very special!

I also want to thank my mom for being such an amazing woman! I would not be who I am today without her and her teachings. Now that I have Connor, I understand all that she has sacrificed and given up for me over these last 28 years and I hope I too can be as wonderful a mother to my children as she is to me. I love you mom and I thank for everything you have done for me!

A new addition

As some of you know, my car broke down about 6 months ago and has been sitting on the street by our house. Cary and I had been talking about getting me a new used car and selling my old one for a while now. We wanted to wait until the beginning of the year to see what our tax return was going to be and to see if Cary was going to get promoted, which he did. It was such a blessing that he was, so that I could work less and stay home with Connor more. It also meant that we would have to wait a little longer on getting me a car so that we could save a little more in addition to our tax return. After much patience and trust we were finally able to go get me a new used car! I love it! It is a 2007 Honda Accord. It is nice to not feel trapped in my own home anymore when Cary is at work and be able to go run an errand or two when I want to.
The next step was selling my old car. A few days after we got the new car, I cleaned it out and took off my tags. I had not put a For Sale in it yet because I had not yet finished cleaning it. The next day a man came to our door and asked about the car. He lives across the street from us and has teenagers that he was looking to get a car for. He asked what was wrong with it and price. He went home and talked with his wife and talked with us a few more times and about a week later he bought my old car! We could not believe how quick and painless selling my car was. We never thought it would be that easy and I know in the future it may not be, but God is always faithful to provide a way! God has blessed us tremendously over the last few years and we know he will continue to do so as long as we are faithful to him.
On a side note, we have recently joined a church here in Raleigh that we have been going to for some time now. It is called Bayleaf Baptist and we love being apart of a church family again. We will always miss Englewood, but we know Bayleaf is where God wants us to be.

Connor- 10 months

Connor is learning so fast these days! He has been pulling up and standing on his own for a month now. He takes little steps here and there. He eats and sleeps really well and is such a happy baby! We love taking in every moment with him. He loves playing in his play pin and throwing his toys over the sides. It is so funny to watch him play. He still loves to watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. His hair is getting really thick and is starting to get a little darker on the top. He is getting so big!
